Area Agency
on Aging (AAA), District # 13
We were appointed as the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) in 1979 pursuant
to the requirements of the Older Americans Act. To enable senior citizens
to remain as independent as possible, Community Connection assists with
in-home care, congregate meals, meals-on wheels, health clinics and
transportation.
Community Action Agency (CAA)
Community Connection became the Community Action Agency for Baker, Union
and Wallowa counties in 1969, adding Grant county to our service area
in 1987. We assist homeless and low-income persons with services such
as housing and utility assistance, weatherization, food banks, self-sufficiency
programs and transportation in our efforts to reduce poverty.
Community Development Corporation (CDC)
In 1996, the Board of directors adopted the State of Oregon's requirements
to promote community and economic development to become a Community
Development Corporation (CDC). As a CDC, our purpose is for the benefit
of low and moderate- income people's need.
Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO)
In 1993, Community Connection was designated as a Community Housing
Development Organization (CHDO) by Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
This designation recognized Community Connection's commitment to developing
