PROGRAM AREAS
 

Area Agency on Aging (AAA), District # 13
We were appointed as the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) in 1979 pursuant to the requirements of the Older Americans Act. To enable senior citizens to remain as independent as possible, Community Connection assists with in-home care, congregate meals, meals-on wheels, health clinics and transportation.


Community Action Agency (CAA)
Community Connection became the Community Action Agency for Baker, Union and Wallowa counties in 1969, adding Grant county to our service area in 1987. We assist homeless and low-income persons with services such as housing and utility assistance, weatherization, food banks, self-sufficiency programs and transportation in our efforts to reduce poverty.


Community Development Corporation (CDC)
In 1996, the Board of directors adopted the State of Oregon's requirements to promote community and economic development to become a Community Development Corporation (CDC). As a CDC, our purpose is for the benefit of low and moderate- income people's need.


Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO)
In 1993, Community Connection was designated as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) by Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This designation recognized Community Connection's commitment to developing safe, sanitary and affordable housing for people earning low and moderate incomes.
